Merle Works was born out of a time of uncertainty, designed as a personal remedy for anxiety, and evolved into a source of joy for all who discover it. Our brand nurtures human connection, a love of language and color, and the belief that anything is possible. We aim to make giving and receiving gifts an inspired and intentional experience, filled with meaning and creativity.

The name "Merle Works" is a nod to the innovative spirit of Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works division during World War II, combined with the playful inspiration from our founder's pandemic puppy, Merle, with his mottled, tie-dye-like coat. Founded by a former hospitality industry professional who took a leap of faith in 2020, Merle Works embodies risk-taking and creativity. Every item is hand-dyed, sometimes made to order, and thoroughly tested for quality. We avoid excessive packaging, using paper and string for tags, and every product includes a "magic message" handwritten at our founder's kitchen table.
