White Owl Sanctuary is a community-driven nonprofit on the Pine Ridge Reservation in Kyle, South Dakota, created as a space where animals and the people who care for them can find meaningful support. By gathering donations of dog food and essential pet supplies, the Sanctuary helps families keep their pets at home, preventing abandonment and reducing the number of stray animals. Since beginning this work in 2014, White Owl Sanctuary has believed that real impact comes from working together—combining compassion, shared resources, and a dedication to strengthening the bond between humans and animals.

The Sanctuary also collaborates with a veterinarian and a trusted rescue organization to ensure unwanted animals are safely transported and given better chances at finding “forever homes.” Powered entirely by volunteers and generous donors, White Owl Sanctuary continues to make a lasting difference through its Animal Food Bank and community initiatives. Whether assisting families in need or coordinating rescue efforts, the Sanctuary remains committed to creating positive change—and invites others to join in supporting animals and people across the Reservation.
