In 2008, after working in the mortgage industry for 27 years, Ruth was laid off during the financial crisis and decided to pursue something she truly loved, leading her to purchase an existing pet boutique in Sea Girt, which became Paws Pet Boutique. There, she began baking and selling her own brand of wheat-, corn-, and soy-free treats, K9 Confections, made with high-quality, human-grade ingredients and without added salt, sugar, artificial flavorings, fillers, or preservatives. Ruth's dedication to quality and healthy treats led her to establish Paws Barkery and Boutique as a premier destination for pet owners in the Asbury Park area.
